Yakima Yoga Class Descriptions
Align
Broaden and deepen your practice as you continue to build body and breath awareness. Focus is on alignment priorities and refining actions of each asana. Advanced variations of basic postures, inversions and arm balances are introduced in this class.
Ashtanga Flow
A modern dynamic class based on the Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series in which breath regulates movement. Begins with sun salutations A & B and continues through a progressive series of postures producing internal heat and sweat to detoxify muscles and organs.
DeepRest
Deep soothing stretches alternating with supported postures. Stretches and postures are held for several minutes but with softness and support that allows exquisite openings of tight hips, shoulders, and hamstrings. DeepRest offers a deep release of the body's connective tissue (tendons, ligaments, & cartilage). Best of all, it feels simply amazing.
Ease
Sometimes, your mobility, balance, flexibility, or strength limitations require a more careful class. The pace is relaxed and we use more props, including chairs, to establish stability and access to the poses.
Hatha Flow (1/2)
This class includes basic and intermediate postures as well as pranayama (breathing techniques) and relaxation connecting and flowing from posture to posture, slightly shortening the traditional holding time to create a more active, yet still relaxing, yoga class.
HEAT! Flow
An energetic class that builds endurance, strength, and HEAT! There is less detailed instruction in favor of continuity of focused movement. Class is designed for students with a with a solid yoga practice and is not suitable for new beginners.
Intro to Hatha
This class aims to introduce beginner level students to the practice of traditional Indian Hatha yoga. It includes postures, breathing and relaxation practices with the main focus on learning to hold yoga postures for longer periods of time and is designed to strengthen and stretch the muscles.

Bring your home practice to the studio, enjoying the amenities of a dedicated studio. Mats, blocks, bolsters, blankets, and straps are freely available for your use. Michele will be in studio and available for questions, assistance, or to simply leave you in peace to practice.
Play – FREE!
Experimental, improvised, impulsive, fun! You never know what you’ll get. Join Michele as she works on new sequencing for classes and deepens her own practice with new and advanced variations of postures.
Power
This is a quick and dynamic class utilizing sun salutations and connected poses to increase the heart rate, warm up the body and develop flexibility. The vigorous, flowing nature builds strength, and endurance, leaving you feeling energized for the rest of your day.
Prenatal
Small classes customized to the unique needs of mothers-to-be that focus on creating space for your baby and relief for the physical challenges that accompany pregnancy.
Shape
In Shape, you’ll grow your practice with exposure to a wide range of yoga postures – learning the shape and aligning principles - while improving flexibility, strength, and balance. It’s the ideal class to get your practice started, but it’s not just for beginners. Michele works with students where they are in their practice, providing modifications for less or more advanced postures as needed. Class is conducted at a relaxed pace where students are encouraged to ask questions.
Strength
This challenging strength building class is designed to increase power, stamina and core body strength gradually through holding postures longer. The focus will be on strengthening and stretching the core, a great practice to ease back pain, develop flatter abs and take your practice to the next level.
Warm Flow
An alternative to the HEAT! Flow class. Warm flow builds endurance and stamina, but at an intensity that allows you to get into the groove or zone of your practice. Unlike Heat, this class is open to all student levels.
